Sears will no longer talk with me about giving me my money back
I ended up calling Sears about this problem again. Their message at the beginning of the phone call says that the call may be monitored or recorded. That notification basically gives me the right to record the conversation in the state of California, since I consent to being recorded by Sears. The manager I spoke with apparently doesn’t give his consent to have me record him.
Sears.com is now trying to say I cannot get a refund from them because the retail store picked up the item, which is wrong. I’m now going to have to go through other means to get my money back, since I know that this is not going to get anything happening through normal customer service.
Here’s the deal: Sears.com now owes me $572.58, including sales tax and the delivery fee that they promised to refund. You all have heard their promise to refund that money. Now they will not refund the money, and they will not talk with me despite their notice giving me the legal right to record the conversation.
I just left another voicemail for John Walden at the Sears Holdings corporate offices asking for a return call about this problem, and I again gave him my cell phone number and this website address so he can see what has happened over the past couple of months. We’ll see if this gets resolved, or if I have to go to court.
I will get my money back.
